Project: Housing Authority of St Louis Park
Hamilton House Public Area Renovations
Location: St Louis Park, Minnesota
Area: 110 Units
The Hamilton House is a 4 story public housing facility located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The original building was built in 1974. The project consisted of preparing the designs and construction documents for the renovation of the public spaces in the building including, entries, lobbies, corridors, offices, community rooms, media rooms and a communal kitchen. Increasing the accessibility of the facility as well as esthetic upgrades were main goals of the project. Of particular concern were the dark and dated corridors. These corridors were where brightened up by adding low-profile indirect fluorescent lighting in the ceiling above as well as new sconce lights replacing the dated originals. Corridor finishes were upgraded and diversified to provide interest and break up the long straight corridors.
